Over 1,700 NIH employees registered to participate in this year's event.

The NIH Take a Hike Day event invites all employees and contractors to participate in a non-competitive Walk or Fun Run around the perimeter of the NIH campus. This event is held every year in conjunction with the National President's Challenge and the HealthierFeds initiative.
Coordination and planning for the event is managed through the Office of Research Services, Division of Amenities and Transportation Services in partnership with the NIH Office of Management.
